"Beautiful Day" doesn't even begin to describe our day today.  We woke up early to get to the ice rink before the rest of the Viennese families.  The girls were so excited to be taking their Papa ice skating.  Bailey enjoys it, but has a predictably short attention span.  So, while she and John took off on a walk to explore the rest of the ice skating villiage, Audrey and I scooted and shuffled around the ice to our hearts' content.

Lunch at these places is usually the predictable wurst or spaetzle option, but there was one booth smoking salmon and making amazing sandwiches with it.  John got one and I kept stealing bites until I wished I hadn't already settled for wurstl.

Our day only got better as the sun came out and offered us some much appreciated warmth.  We laid in the grass of Rathaus park, just enjoying the sun.  We couldn't stand to call it quits; the weather was just too gorgeous to be spending time inside, so we set off on one of our 1st district rambles and ended up at John's favorite church.  The girls lit candles and said some prayers.  I caught this sweet picture of Audrey and John saying a prayer together.

By the time we made our way around the ring, it was univerally decided: time for a coffee break.  So, we snuggled into a booth at Cafe Museum and enjoyed our lazy afternoon over raspberry sodas and a few Viennese Melanges.  I'd take this Saturday in Winter any day!
